Hanuman Chalisa chanting World Record led by Pujya Sri Swamiji in Tenali on 31 Jan 2015

A new Guinness World Record was created for the largest gathering ever to attend the chanting of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ held at Tenali in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India on Saturday, 31 January 2015. The marathon chanting was led by Parama Pujya Dr. Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and attended by 1.28 lakh devotees who had converged from various parts of the country.

Devotees thronged the venue early in the morning. The organizers expected a turnout of about 1.11 lakh, but the gathering swelled to 1.30 lakh by the time the programme began. The chanting of Hanuman chalisa was done by about 1,28,913 devotees which has never done before at any place.

Tamil Nadu Governor HE Sri. Konijeti Rosaiah, who was the chief guest, presented the certificate of the Guinness Record to the seer at the end of the programme. Representative from Guinness Book of World Records, Fortune Berk was also present. Tenali MLA Sri. Alapati Rajendra Prasad and MLC Smt. Nannapaneni Rajakumari said that the massive programme would give fillip to many spiritual programmes in the region.

The ‘Parayanam’ began at 9 a.m. with Pujya Sri Swamiji rendering the Hanuman Chalisa shlokas. The district administration had made elaborate arrangements for the programme.
